SYLVIA LOPEZ CUEVAS
City Clerk
Sylvia holds a B.S. in Clinical Psychology and has a professional background with the Secretariat of Social Development (SEDESOL) in Mexico. Sylvia has over 12 years of legal experience working as a Certified Paralegal and as a Courtroom Clerk for the Sonoma County Superior Court.
Sylvia joined the City of Rohnert Park in April 2019. She obtained her California Professional Municipal Clerk Certificate from the University of Riverside, University Extension, and holds the Master Municipal Clerk designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
Sylvia is an active member of the City Clerks Association of California (CCAC) and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). She also serves as a California Notary Public.
In her capacity as the City Clerk and Elections Official for the City of Rohnert Park, Sylvia oversees democratic processes, city record access, and legislative actions, ensuring transparency. She functions as a compliance officer for federal, state, and local statutes, including the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act. Sylvia serves as the City Clerk of the City Council and as the Secretary of the Rohnert Park Financing Authority and City of Rohnert Park Foundation.
Beyond her professional duties, Sylvia enjoys music, reading, and cherishes quality time with her family. She has a fondness for Christmas movies and sweets.
