Thank you for your interest in the Small Grants Program. The application period is currently closed.

While we hope to offer a Small Grants Program in the future, we do not anticipate doing so in 2023. Also, before offering a program, the City will review and may change the prior guidelines. If you are interested in being notified of opportunities to apply for a future program, contact Karen Mack at kmack@rpcity.org.

Welcome to the Small Grants Program!
The City of Rohnert Park Foundation Small Grants program funds a diverse number of projects benefiting and improving the community of Rohnert Park.

Funding of the Small Grants program is provided by the non-guaranteed, recurring “Community Investment” contributions from the Graton Mitigation Fund, as described in the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Rohnert Park and the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. For more information about the Graton Mitigation Fund, click here.

General Guidelines and Eligibility
The Small Grants Program funds will focus resources on and provide funding to projects which enhance the City of Rohnert Park.

Any community organization is eligible to apply. In order to discourage organizations from becoming reliant on the Small Grants Program, no applicant may be awarded Small Grants Program funds to conduct the same service or project for consecutive fiscal years, unless the condition is waived by the Foundation Board.

Maximum Grant Award: $5,000
The maximum grant award is $5,000 per grant cycle. Applicants will be required to provide justification to support the grant amount requested. Applicants should apply for a grant amount that meets the proposed project’s needs; however, the maximum award will not exceed $5,000.

Cycle 3 Grants were awarded in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021. Program activities completed by June 30, 2022.

The Foundation will award up to $100,000 of Small Grants Program funding in Grant Cycle 3. While the City of Rohnert Park Foundation recognizes that many activities may benefit the community, it’s impossible to fund every request. In order to make the most meaningful impact in our community, we focus grant giving on projects in alignment with the City of Rohnert Park’s vision to make our community a safe, enjoyable place to live, work, and play.

Successful applicants to the Small Grants Program will receive funding through a contract with the City of Rohnert Park Foundation. All contractors will be required to demonstrate the completion of contractual activities and provide financial documentation in compliance with IRS Expenditure Responsibility recordkeeping requirements.
