Play Ball! The Rohnert Park Community Services department is proud to partner with the Giants Community Fund to bring their flagship program Junior Giants to Rohnert Park.

Junior Giants is a free non-competitive co-ed baseball league for children. This innovative program is designed by the Giants Community Fund in cooperation with the San Francisco Giants to use baseball as a forum to encourage and educate our youth to live healthy and productive lives. Each week participants are not only instructed on the fundamentals of the game of baseball but also participate in a discussion on the “word of the week” including the “4 bases of character development” Confidence, Teamwork,
Leadership and Integrity. For completion of each week’s discussions and challenges participants have an opportunity to earn a number of fantastic San Francisco Giants themed rewards.

No experience or equipment necessary, equipment is generously provided by the Giants Community Fund.

The health and safety of our players and families is always of the highest importance. We are working hard to provide all of our Junior Giants the best possible experience providing a safe and fun environment following all state and local health and safety guidelines. For the health and safety of our participants there will likely be additional precautions that will have to be followed by players and parent spectators possibly including but may not be limited to health and safety screenings, social distancing, masks, and mandatory hand washing/hand sanitizing. As the situation is still changing additional information will be provided as we get closer to the season.

NEW FOR 2021 - Softball
We are proud to introduce a new softball division for children ages 7-9 years old! This division has the same prizes and programs as the baseball division, but the sport is softball instead of baseball.

Girls and boys ages 7-9 years old may choose to play either softball or baseball. In future years, we hope to expand this program to include a majors division for ages 10-13. If we do not get enough participants this season for softball all registered participants will have the opportunity to join the baseball division if they would like.

Opening Day: June 14 (tentative)

Each team will have 1 game and 1 practice per week (first two weeks will be just 2 practices). Times and locations are subject to change based upon league registration and field availability. Game and practice times are scheduled to start no earlier than 5:30pm.

League will run for up to 8 weeks.

Division Schedules
Minors Baseball - Monday Practice, Wednesday Games
T-Ball, Minors Softball, Majors Baseball - Tuesday Practice, Thursday Games

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! This league is only possible with the help of generous volunteers. We are looking for volunteers to serve as coaches
and team parents. Great with kids but don’t know much about baseball? No problem, we will be hosting a coaching and fundamentals clinic and will provide you with all the materials you need to run a successful practice.
