Thank you for visiting our website. Please look through the information provided here about Measure E and Rohnert Park’s current financial condition. On February 23, 2010 the City Council unanimously declared a fiscal emergency and placed Measure E, the Rohnert Park Essential City Services Temporary Funding Measure, on the June 8, 2010 ballot. If adopted by the voters during the June 8, 2010 election, Measure E would create temporary local funding for City services. The fiscal emergency we are facing is significant — the City has already lost $5.5 Million to Sacramento as the State continues to take more and more from cities. Over the past two years, the City has acted to make nearly $6 million in cuts from our budget in order to operate as efficiently as possible. The City still faces an annual $6 million deficit, affecting its ability to provide services such as police and fire, 9-1-1, and street/pothole repair. Measure E would provide between $2.4 and $2.8 million in annual local revenue. All revenues received would stay in Rohnert Park to help provide City services such as protecting and maintaining our community’s public safety. Measure E expires 5 years after it is adopted – it is a temporary measure to help prevent additional cuts during the City's fiscal emergency. Please explore all of the Budget related documents for more information about our current fiscal emergency.
